Although his gearing I don't completely agree with, I'd do mostly straight gemming for intel except for his helm i'd throw 20 intel 20 spirit and of course the gemming for meta, which I would also put 54 intel and 2% max mana in. I havent' done an extensive amount of shaman healing in cata so I wouldn't say im speaking the shammy healing gospel. He knew the basics of how his class worked, but not a whole lot passed it.

Where he impressed me is his eagerness to learn more, his self taught style of healing not being too bad and his openess in areas where he thought he was lack luster or what he called "down sides". Although 16 seems decently mature for his age. His ability to ask for criticism and not take it personally is an uncommon thing to see in players, espicially a younger one.

Investment in healers couldn't help, and his willingness to learn is a plus. He would take a bit of work before I would feel comfortable taking him to heroic FL. Seems to have a lot of heart and a good attitude. If he is willing to learn a bit more I think he could be very valuable.
